Pohjola Bank to Issue Index-linked Bond in Equity Markets


On 21 December 2011, Pohjola Bank plc will issue an index-linked bond, Pohjola Kasvu-Osake XII/2011 (Pohjola Growth Equity XII/2011), with a maximum nominal volume of EUR 40 million. Targeted at retail investors, the bond with a maturity of five years will be issued under Pohjola's domestic bond programme, with the subscription period beginning on 7 November 2011.

The bond alternatives are Neutral and Plus with issue prices of 100% and 110%. The index-linked yield is calculated by multiplying the return rate by the relative positive change between the initial and final value of the equity basket formed by quoted company shares.

The equity basket index comprises the following 9 companies with the same weightings, selected by Pohjola Research: Fortum, Ericsson, Nordea, Metso, Nokia, Nokian Tyres, Stora Enso, TeliaSonera and UPM-Kymmene.

Pohjola will act as the manager of the issue and the bond will be listed on NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Ltd, provided that the volume issued is at least the minimum specified in the Rules and Regulations of NASDAQ OMX Helsinki. The branches of OP-Pohjola Group member banks and op.fi/joukkolainat will serve as subscription agents.
