SkyRecon Device Control System Gets 4 Out of 5 Stars in SC Magazine Review

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - August 12, 2009) - SkyRecon® Systems (www.skyrecon.com) today announced that its StormShield Device Control System 5.1 received an overall rating of four out of five stars in a test that evaluated features, ease of use, performance, documentation, support and value for money.

SkyRecon's StormShield Device Control System 5.1 allows centralized control over all of an organization's end-user's peripherals, including removable USB devices, USB drives, iPods, CD/DVD burners, network cards, serial/parallel ports and Firewire devices. StormShield gives the organization the ability to leverage ActiveDirectory to set operational policies regarding these devices, for example blocking certain features such as the ability to copy and paste or burn CDs and DVDs.

The review stated that StormShield Device Control System 5.1 is a "very strong endpoint solution to protect the enterprise or corporate assets."

Other points SC Magazine emphasized included:

One critique of this solution was the complexity of using it as a stand-alone security system for peripheral devices relative to the level of protection it provides. However, the review went to add -- "as a corporate endpoint protection solution to guard against (peripheral) devices attaching in an unauthorized fashion to corporate assets, it's a great solution." This is a clear testament to the value of an integrated endpoint security offering.

The review concluded by pointing out that "this is a great solution for an organization that wants to cover all aspects of endpoint security."
