Vaisala to supply weather monitoring equipment to Russia

Vaisala will provide the Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet) with state-of-the-art surface weather monitoring technology. Vaisala is partnering with a local Russian integrator, Lanit, in the delivery project. The value of the contract is 4.7 million euros, and deliveries start during 2008.
The equipment will be used in the entire Russian Federation in accordance with the Russian Federation National Hydromet Modernization Project. Vaisala has previously supplied measurement equipment for numerous airports, transportation and meteorological monitoring services, and various industrial, maritime and polar applications in Russia.
