NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) today announced that it has acquired substantially all the assets of New Dimension Solutions, Inc. (NDS), a leading provider of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) consulting services primarily focused on asset-intensive industries such as Utilities, Mining and Energy. The acquisition includes a group of client service professionals with significant industry, operational and IT expertise, specifically in EAM implementations. New Dimension Solutions CEO Chris Fynn has been admitted to the PwC partnership as a principal and joins PwC's Advisory practice as the leader of the EAM Practice, and a key member of the Utilities Advisory Sector group led by partner David Etheridge.
"PricewaterhouseCoopers foresees Utilities continuing to focus on optimizing operating performance and shareholder value by ensuring the highest availability and efficiency of their Generating, Transmission, Distribution and Customer assets and PwC is building its capabilities to meet what we foresee as a sustained demand for operational excellence," said David Etheridge, partner and Utilities Advisory Sector leader. "The acquisition of New Dimension Solutions' assets and resources will immediately enable PwC to bring clients a full complement of business, financial, human capital, technology and operational improvement services to help them meet the challenges faced by capital intensive businesses. We welcome the addition of Chris Fynn and the NDS team to our practice and look forward to serving our clients together."

PwC currently provides Utility asset life cycle services through its M&A, tax structuring, construction management, operating metric and other business intelligence, portfolio optimization and risk management offerings. NDS' strength is in providing operating tools and solutions, including the implementation of SAP Enterprise Asset Management, that help Utility Operators maintain and manage plant assets. NDS is an SAP preferred provider of EAM services and a recognized leader in the market. The NDS resource expertise joining PricewaterhouseCoopers will add capabilities across the full spectrum of services to manage enterprise assets through their life-cycle, including the implementation of EAM and Work Management Solutions, Asset Reliability Optimization (RCM/D, RCA), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and application integration, enterprise optimization and business intelligence/warehousing solutions.
"Bringing the assets and expertise of New Dimension Solutions into the PricewaterhouseCoopers firm creates a powerhouse team of professionals with the global reach and depth of experience across disciplines expected by today's Utilities companies," said Chris Fynn, former CEO of NDS. "This is a win-win for our clients, who will gain the insight and experience of our combined expertise and for NDS client service professionals, who will enhance their career opportunities through joining one of the leading professional services firms in the world."
New Dimension Solutions has a strong client base in the Utilities sector, with approximately 70% of its current business focused on Utility customers.
