LOS ANGELES, Oct. 19, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar, Public Utilities Commissioner Dian M. Grueneich, Los Angeles Unified School District Board President Monica Garcia and other officials will join Southern California Gas Co. (The Gas Company) at a free Boyle Heights Neighborhood Utility and Community Resource Fair to offer information on utility bill assistance, energy efficiency, earthquake preparedness programs and affordable lending information.
WHAT: The collaborative Utility and Community Resource Fair will
include experts from The Gas Company, California Public
Utilities Commission, Southern California Edison, AT&T,
Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA, L.A. Neighborhood Housing
Services, L.A. Conservation Corps, Metropolitan Water
District of Southern California, Los Angeles Department of
Water and Power (DWP), Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and
T-Mobile.
Residents are encouraged to bring their cell phone, AT&T,
Gas Company, Southern California Edison or DWP bill to be
eligible to win up to $100 credit toward a utility bill
during the hourly raffle, in addition to other giveaway
items. The event will feature free lunch, entertainment and
information booths.
Officials will be awarding first-, second- and third-place
awards to elementary, middle and senior high school students
who participated in the Conservation Ad Contest.
