GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Aug. 1, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nobel Biocare today introduced a number of new products further strengthening the company's Easy Esthetics(tm) range of restorative esthetic dental solutions. The new products include extensions to the world-leading industrialized line of Procera(r) all-ceramic individualized crowns, bridges, laminates and abutments and an updated version of the Procera(r) CAD software -- all designed to offer dental professionals custom-made metal-free, long-lasting esthetic solutions for all their patients.
"Patients have always gone to their dentist looking for a beautiful smile. With these new products and Easy Esthetics(tm) solutions we fulfill our goal of providing dental professionals with the most complete range of solutions to efficiently satisfy their patient needs. Nobel Biocare is the only player on the market to provide a total solution from root to tooth," says Heliane Canepa, President and CEO for Nobel Biocare.
The product innovations are backed by a wide range of campaign material for dental professionals and dental labs, including a News Magazine for patients and a Procera Book. The beauty of the laminates is proven by the four-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer Inge de Bruijn from the Netherlands, who has received Procera(r) laminates and has started a second career as a model. She will be the cover face for Procera(r) in communication with dental professionals and patients.
Highlights of the product innovations of the Procera(r) line include:
-- Procera(r) Implant Bridge Zirconia. The new implant bridge
in zirconia will have the same excellent fit as the
Procera(r) Implant Bridge in titanium. In combination with
the new pink NobelRondo(tm) gingival (soft tissue) porcelain,
it will offer excellent fit and outstanding esthetic results.
-- Procera(r) Bridge Alumina, which is the only densely sintered
alumina bridge in the world. Used most often in the anterior
esthetic region, the bridge offers a high level of strength,
and provides the superior color and translucency of a natural
tooth.
-- Procera(r) Software Upgrade, version 1.6, includes several
new features and supports the widest range of applications
on the market from single copings and laminates to full
implant bridge. The new software makes it possible for
dental laboratories to scan a Procera(r) Implant Bridge in
titanium and zirconia, instead of shipping models as before,
thereby significantly reducing the time of delivery.
-- Procera(r) Esthetic Abutment Selection kit was introduced
earlier this year. The kit makes it possible for the clinician
to connect a final Procera(r) Zirconia Abutment at the time
of surgery. This solution provides the best possible
immediate solution for the patient from both a biological
and esthetic point of view.
-- The range of personalized esthetic Procera(r) Abutments
Titanium and Zirconia for other implant systems was extended
to include CAMLOG Biotechnologies and Astra Tech implant
systems.
-- NobelRondo(tm) Gingiva Zirconia porcelain designed to
compliment the Procera(r) Implant Bridge Zirconia, providing
excellent esthetics even in situations with severely
resorbed bone. The new, extremely strong porcelain makes
it possible to recreate the pink color of soft tissue on
an implant bridge, giving patients a solution that provides
the natural appearance of real teeth and soft tissue.
