Jaakko Pöyry Oy, JP-Engineering Ltd and JP-Kakko Oy, which are part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group's Forest Industry business group, will participate in the pulp mill project to be implemented in Uruguay by Botnia S.A. The value of the assignment is some EUR 15 million, of which EUR 5 million has been included in the order stock for the first and second quarters of 2005.
According to the assignment, Jaakko Pöyry will supply owners engineering services in the pulp mill project implementation, construction engineering of the mill, engineering of the interconnections between main mill departments and detail engineering for the main process equipment to be supplied by Andritz. The annual capacity of the pulp mill will be one million tonnes and it will start up during the third quarter of 2007.
Botnia S.A. is owned by Oy Metsä-Botnia Ab, UPM-Kymmene Oyj and Cooperation Metsäliitto, with whom Jaakko Pöyry has a long lasting cooperation relationship. Jaakko Pöyry has participated in the implementation of several of Botnia's, UPM-Kymmene's and Metsäliitto's major projects in Finland as well as globally.
