WHAT: Joel Short, chief technology officer for Nomadix,

committee and is editor and co-author of WISPr's

(WISP) Roaming". He is also the co-chairman of
the Public-access Task Group within the Wi-Fi
Alliance. Dr. Short has extensive experience in
the design and management of complex computer
network systems, having worked for various
technology start-ups and well-known technology
companies including Apple Computer. He received
his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA where he
was a lead contributor to various ARPA sponsored
wireless and mobile research projects including
TRAVLER -- Transparent Virtual Networking and
WAMIS -- Wireless Adaptive Mobile Information
Systems.
